Following the approval of the Federal Government to reopen orientation camps of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) across the country, the service corps disclosed that it was ready to dispatch 6,000 corps members to different states in the country for Batch ‘B’.
This development was revealed by the Director-General of the service corps, Shuaibu Ibrahim, in an interview with newsmen.
Ibrahim disclosed that the NYSC had travelled across the country to “ensure that the camps are ready”.
We are prepared to deploy 6,000 corps members to participate for the 2020 Batch ‘B’ exercise. We have gone round the country to ensure that the camps are also ready. We are going to merge those who suspended their orientation in March to also participate for the forthcoming national orientation exercise,” he said.
He added that the service corps had ensured that all COVID-19 protocols had been put in place to ensure the safety of corps members.
Ibrahim also said that the service corps all guidelines set down by the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 would be strictly adhered to.
