Some members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have been kidnapped by unidentified gunmen along Lokoja-Abuja Highway, Afriupdate reports.
The corps members were said to be on their way from the NYSC Orientation Camp in Ede, Osun State when the incident occurred on Tuesday.
Although, the names and numbers of the abducted corps members are yet to be ascertained as of the time of filing this report. But, a Corp member identified as Suleiman Yusuf Bomoi, a graduate of English Language from the Federal University Gashua was shot dead by the armed gang and his body has been reportedly deposited at the Sabon Wuse General Hospital in Niger State.
However, the effort made to reach Kogi State Police Command spokesperson, Williams Aya proof abortive because several calls put to his mobile phone did not go through.
This online news medium recalls that kidnappers along the expressway had recently laid siege on the road and unleashed terror on travelers, leading to the deaths of many people.
Another corp member, known to be Samuel Adigun, and eight others were kidnapped by some gunmen in army uniforms near Idu village, along Lokoja-Abuja Road in February.
