Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria is set to host the annual public lecture on insecurity as part of its contribution to National Discourse and Nation building.
Former governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi, and Chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum and Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi will lead other eminent personalities in discussions at the lecture.
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu will be the Special Guest of Honour at the lecture slated to hold on October 12, at the headquarters of the FGCN, Alagomeji, Yaba, Lagos.
With the theme, ‘National Security Challenge: Youth neglect?,’ the lecture precedes the Church’s 66th Annual Convention holding between November 15 to 21, 2021.
Other personalities expected at the event include the Chairman of Channels Television Group, Dr John Momoh, who is expected to chair the event, and Professor Cecilia Oladapo of the Faculty of Education, the University of Lagos who will also speak on the theme. The General Overseer of FGCN, Rev Sam Aboyeji will be the chief host.
According to a statement by the Chairman of the Convention Planning Committee, Rev Theo Netufo, the theme of the lecture is informed by the mood of the nation and the need for the church to contribute its quota to the efforts at resolving the security challenge in the country.
Netufo said Foursquare recognises the abundant resources in the youth and has consistently mobilised the youth, providing support for them in the quest to help them realise their potentials.
According to him, the vision of the General Overseer of Foursquare, Rev Aboyeji is to empower the youth and keep them engaged positively in order to ensure that the church and the nation maximises their potentials.
