Angry Oyo youths have stormed the State Police Command Headquarters in Ibadan to protest over the escape of the prime suspect in the killings that took place in Akinyele Local Government Area of the state.
According to information gathered by Afriupdate, some of the protesters who were being attended to by the Commissioner of Police, Nwachukwu Enwonwu became unruly and resorted to attacking the force headquarters with stones and other weapons.
But the police were said to have promptly stopped it.
Reacting to the development in a telephone interview, the Police Public Relations Officer, Olugbenga Fadeyi, said some students protested.
“The CP and other senior police officers attended to them and answered all their questions.
“You know students now, some of them got out of control but we were able to handle the situation professionally. They have gone back.”
It will be recalled that Shodipe, who was paraded on July 17 by the police, confessed to being responsible for the killing of some of the victims in the area.
The suspect, however, escaped from Police custody on August 11.
