• Four LASU Alumni Make Top 10 At The Competition
To curtail the spread of false information on Coronavirus and engage African youths through their creativities, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) recently organised a webinar competition tagged: Youth Power in Combatting Mis- and Disinformation on COVID-19 Pandemic and Beyond.
Following the submission of entry, four alumni of Lagos State University (LASU), Elias Sanni, Olusegun Giwa, Sandra Animam and Babatunde Gandonu, who are recent graduates from the School of Communications, worked remotely to come up with a creative that emerged among the top 10 of 41 other entries.
The winners who were recently announced on a live webinar organised by the UNESCO Abuja regional headquarters, will be awarded with certificates, gift prizes, and an opportunity to become members of the Youth Alliance for Media and Information Literacy (YAMIL), so as to step up the fight against mis- and disinformation of the pandemic in Africa.
