The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has said that the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) 2020 results will be released “next week”.
It would be recalled that Afriupdate had earlier reported that WAEC said in September that it has a 45-day timeline from its last paper to release the results of the 2020 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination.
This indicates that the results should be released by late October.
The Council said at that time, according to Punch that it would keep to 45 days after the last paper was written to release the results and work to meet the deadline.
Many had expected the results to be released latest by Tuesday, October 27, but WAEC through its official Twitter handle early on Wednesday hinged the non-fulfillment on the #EndSARS protests-caused curfew imposed last week in some parts of Nigeria.
The Council consequently thus stated that ‘the exact date of WAEC Result 2020 Release Date “will be made known soon”.
WASSCE SC 2020 Results Release Date: Dear candidates, the Council had planned to release the results today in fulfillment of our Project 45 but due to the curfew imposed last week, it had to be postponed till next week. The exact date will be made known soon.
