The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) has adjourned the hearing of the cases before it to Thursday, May 11, 2023.
This was disclosed by the official Twitter handle of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in a statement on Tuesday.
“After the adoptions and arguments by counsels at the pre-hearing session, the court has adjourned to Thursday May 11, 2023, by 2:00Pm,” PDP tweeted.
“This is to allow other parties i.e. APC, Bola Tinubu and INEC to respond to PDP and Atiku Abubakar’s application for the Live Transmission of the hearings.
“Join us as we work together to #RecoverNigeria from the failures of the APC.”
Meanwhile, the PEPT on Monday dismissed one of the petitions filed by the Action Alliance (AA) challenging the victory of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the February 25 Presidential poll.
The dismissal followed a request by the petitioner’s lawyer, Oba Maduabuchi who told the Tribunal that he was instructed by his client to withdraw the petition.
According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 8,794,726 votes to win the Presidential election.
Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came second with 6,984,520 votes and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) was third with 6,101,533 votes.
