The All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has come under fire from the opposition PDP for trying to deflect attention from the shortcomings of the APC government by disparaging the party in opposition.
According to a statement released by the PDP on Sunday by its spokesman, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the APC’s obsession with the PDP only reveals Asiwaju Tinubu as a paper candidate who is perplexed, uneasy, and intimidated by the PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and the party’s accomplishments, which are staring him in the face and filling him with a mortal fear of failure ahead of 2023 general elections.
“Unlike the APC, which is dead, the PDP is strong, unified, and focused on its mission to rescue, rebuild, and redirect our nation from the misrule of the APC. Asiwaju Tinubu acknowledged this in his remark.
“It is upsetting to hear Asiwaju Tinubu speak incoherently and with a blank stare, as like he has been drinking. This further exposes his lack of leadership skills, especially at the presidential level.
It is quite dishonorable that the APC presidential candidate made a reference to the country’s railway system, which the PDP administration had restored but which the APC administration had sadly abandoned to terrorists and criminals.
“Based on his rambling speech, the APC presidential candidate looks to be struggling with ethical concerns and is ineligible to run for office due to contradictions in his educational background, name, heritage, age, and corruption claims, among a host of other issues.
Additionally, Nigerians have come to see the futility of Asiwaju’s fabricated accomplishments, influence, and leadership abilities.
“Nigerians gave Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu the benefit of the doubt, but he let them down by putting in place a dishonest government that brought upon our country in the previous seven years the ugly indices of insecurity and bloodshed, economic hardship, unemployment, divisiveness, and poor life expectancy.
He should be aware that Nigerians are aware of his intention to use the presidency to expand his exploitative business and economic empire beyond Lagos State rather than to serve the country.
“The APC Presidential Candidate has not responded to claims that he is promoting increases in VAT, electricity tariff, import duties, Stamp Duty, fuel price hikes, and other exploitation tolls by the APC Federal Government, from which he is allegedly benefiting through numerous stooges in the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and other revenue-generating agencies of government.
“Asiwaju is a significant burden for the APC. He should be aware that millions of APC members are defecting to the PDP on a daily basis as a result of him. Over 5 million APC members have switched to the PDP in the past month.
Nearly one million APC supporters have defected to the PDP in the Lagos State axis, his ostensible stronghold, since he became the APC’s presidential candidate.
This is due to the fact that Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential candidate, has been identified by Nigerians as the country’s current answer, whilst Asiwaju has been labeled as “Another Problem Coming” (APC), according to a statement from the PDP.
