During his interiew with La Sexta, Messi revealed that he’d like to play in the US one day. Tribuna.com have compiled a list of clubs that Leo might consider above other options if he does leave for MLS one day.
- Inter Miami FC
David Beckham has said on several instances in that past that he would like to have Leo Messi at his team. Besides, the Englishman was also keen to sign Luis Suarez, so the two best friends could link up one final time in Florida.
- LA Galaxy
For a superstar known beyond football, there’s arguably no better team to join in the MLS. Many consider Los Angeles to be the centre of the world, and for good reasons. Besides, Messi’s move to Galaxy would overshadow that of Beckham from back in 2007.
- New York City FC
If Messi does join Manchester City in the summer, he’s very likely to end up at New York City FC one day as the two clubs are owned by the same company, the City Football Group. There have been reports that the Citizens are ready to offer the Argentine a mixed contract according to which he would spend a couple of years at Man City and then finish his career at their MLS franchise.
- Montreal Impact
Although not technically based in the United States, Montreal Impact still compete in the MLS. The club is currently coached by Thierry Henry who could convince his former teammate to join him in Canada.
- Atlanta United
Atalanta are a relatively young club with a strong Argentinian diaspora, as they’ve got five Argentines in their squad. Atalanta are currently coached by Gabriel Heinze, with whom Leo played 34 matches together at the national team. Their previous coach — Tata Martino, who coached Leo at Barcelona back in the day.
