The Blues have slightly improved their position – but there’s still a lot to do.
Chelsea defeated Burnley 2-0 in the opening Premier League fixture on Sunday, January 31, so that they could watch how their opponents in the top-4 race fare.
Most of the remaining results went our way: Leicester were beaten 3-1 by Leeds at the home ground, while Spurs lost at Brighton 1-0.
Liverpool, meanwhile, won at West Ham 3-1 to leave them in 5th (embarrassingly, they are the highest-placed London club).
Still, Chelsea have to make up a lot of ground, as they are 6 points off 4th-placed Leicester.
The Blues themselves are 7th, although Everton and Aston Villa have two games in hand each and have every chance to leapfrog Thomas Tuchel’s side.
