Julian Draxler will not be joining the London giants in the January transfer window. That’s according to a German outlet, who have revealed that the 27-year-old attacker has decided to fulfill his deal at PSG and leave upon it’s expiry at the end of the campaign.
However, in what could be a boost for the Gunners, the aforementioned report states that Julian is planning to announce his new club in March. That stays to be seen, although earlier in the week it was claimed that the Gunners were in talks with Draxler’s representatives over a move to the London club.
It’s not the first time Gunners have been linked with Germany international. As recently as last summer’s transfer window there was talk of him being included in a swap deal that would have taken Matteo Guendouzi back to France.
Of course, that didn’t materialize and the latter ended up joining Hertha Berlin on a season-long loan deal, while the German attacker stayed put and is now being coached by former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.
If Arsenal are interested in finally signing Julian they could face a contest from fellow PL side Leeds United for his signature. With that said, Julian isn’t the only playmaker on the Spanish manager’s radar.
Isco and Julian Brandt have both been linked, but talk of a move for the Real Madrid midfielder has cooled in recent weeks, while Brandt stays intent on staying at Borussia Dortmund to fight for his place.
The reports claiming Norwich want £40m for Emi Buendia are slightly over the top, but it is still highly probable that the Canaries will demand a sizeable fee for one of their prized assets.
