- Ljungberg is a caretaker manager but he could be given a full role.
- To do this, Arsenal have to return to the winning ways while Freddie is at the helm.
- The board are not in a hurry to appoint a new manager so the Swede has time.
According to the Evening Standard, the Arsenal board are considering Freddie Ljungberg to be among the candidates to permanently take over at the Emirates. They are prepared to offer the Swede a full-time manager position in case he turns things around during his time as a caretaker.
The report also states that the board are not in a hurry to appoint a new manager and are willing to give Ljungberg time to impress.
To show the board that he is the right man for the job, Ljungberg has to deliver positive results, starting with the next game against Brighton. After the 2-2 draw against Norwich, the Gunners are on a eight-game winless streak.
Previously, Josh Kroenke said that Freddie has Arsenal DNA. The Gunners’ players seem to be happy under the Swede’s guidance, as evidenced by the words of Joseph Willock: “Freddie is a brilliant manager, we believe in him and we’re working hard to try and improve.”
However, the 42-year-old does not possess an UEFA Pro License which is required to manage at the Premier League level.
