Arsenal’s star striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, reportedly tells Barcelona he is willing to move to the Camp Nou from Arsenal.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Aubameyang has given the “ok” for a move to Camp Nou after reports claimed Barcelona’s interest in the striker as they continue their search for the next Luis Suarez.
AS reports that the Arsenal captain was one of the players brought up during the discussion on Monday about the future of Barca’s no. 9 as the injury to Suarez has prompted further concerns to the lack of a proper striker in the squad.
The 30-year-old is yet to sign a new contract with Gunners despite having only one and a half-season left on his existing contract.
Arsenal wants to sign a new deal with the star striker but the player himself is keen on a move away from the London side as he hopes to win major trophies before he retires.
According to reports, the Catalan side are well aware of the striker’s ambitions and have received the player’s nod for a potential move.
It remains to be seen if Arsenal are willing to let go of their captain. Reports, however, suggest the move will be purely dependent on the player’s attempt to force the Gunner’s hand into a move to the Spanish side.
Arsenal are currently struggling to keep their 10th place spot on the Premier League table and Aubameyang’s departure will surely hinder their chances of improving to a better position.
Barca will also have to evaluate their options as the focus still remains on Lautaro Martinez, having made an official bid for the Argentine. Aubameyang could be a reliable replacement but problems might occur once Suarez returns from his injury as both the players will demand the no.9 spot.
