Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger refused to be drawn on whether he would be interested in taking charge of Bayern Munich, following the departure of Niko Kovac.
The Bundesliga champions confirmed Kovac’s departure after a surprise 5-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt at the weekend, following a mutual agreement from both parties.

That has left the German giants on the hunt for a new manager and plenty of familiar names have been linked with a move to Bavaria, including Wenger and his former nemesis Jose Mourinho.

The Arsenal legend has been away from management since leaving North London at the end of the 2017/18 season but has made it clear he will return to football in the future
Ahead of the Champions League action this week, Wenger was directly asked about the Bayern speculation and, although he did not give a definitive answer, he explained his current thoughts on his position away from management.
“I came here to speak about the games and you start very strongly there, putting me straight under pressure!” He told beIN Sports.
“Of course, coaching was my whole life and everybody who was a coach will tell you the same, that they miss the intensity. There are things you miss a lot and some things you don’t miss.
“So I enjoy the things I don’t miss too much but, on the other hand, winning a football game, preparing a team for a game and getting satisfaction, sharing emotions, is something that you miss.
“I coached from 33 years of age and I coached until 69 without interruption at a top level, 36 years without stopping, so even if I miss it, to get away from that pressure for a year was good for me.
“People who know me well say I’m more relaxed and it’s true.”
