- Operation Neymar’ is almost impossible, as per Mundo Deportivo.
- The club informed the coach and the squad’s stars that Ney won’t come.
- Allegedly, Messi insisted on the Brazilian arrival.
- Neymar was allegedly also told by the Catalans signing him is nearly impossible.
According to Catalan outlet Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona decided to put an end to the whole ‘Neymar transfer saga’ after failing to agree terms with Paris Saint-Germain over the actual price of the player. During the last few weeks, Blaugrana delegations travelled to France to agree a deal for the winger but it seems the negotiations failed completely.
As such, the same source reports, the club has informed the key players involved in the saga that Neymar won’t return to Camp Nou this summer. Allegedly, Barca personally contacted the three captains: Leo Messi, Sergio Busquets and Gerard Pique.
Moreover, Ernesto Valverde has reportedly also been informed of the decision. Mundo Deportivo claim that the board told him about the decision in advance as he is to give a press conference at noon ahead of the away Osasuna game.
And finally, Neymar and PSG received similar notices. Allegedly, the Catalan club told the Brazilian they did everything they could to bring him back but the Ligue 1 outfit’s demands are unrealistic.
As for the French club, Barca allegedly decided to send them an email after informing all the parties of the decision. The same outlet believes it could be the last push in the negotiations for Ney. Thus, the whole rumour could be just another step in the negotiations in hope PSG lower their demands.
Previously, PSG’s sporting director Leonardo confirmed that the two parties couldn’t agree on a deal for Ney:
“Barca’s first written offer was with us on August 27th. We’ve been ready to discuss, and include players. […] We’re not at the deadline yet, but naturally, it’s getting closer. There’s no agreement [yet].
“Will there be more talks? That depends on Barcelona.”
“Barcelona are the only team we negotiated with,” admitted Leonardo.
