- The 17-year-old attacking midfielder has scored four goals and provided two assists on his debut season with the senior team.
- However, his €35m release clause is declared unacceptable by the Catalan club.
- Moreover, Manchester City, Arsenal, PSG and Atletico are also rumoured to be interested in Reinier.
According to Barcelona-based newspaper Mundo Deportivo, the Catalans are keeping tabs on Flamengo wonderkid Reinier.
The 17-year-old is an attacking midfielder who only earned the first-team promotion this year. Reinier has already scored four goals and provided two assists in 14 appearances for the Brazilian giants.
Reinier’s release clause poses a problem for the Catalans. Initially, it was set at €70m but halved last month to only €35million. Still, this price is said to be unacceptable for Barcelona.
Reinier is under contract with the Brazilians until 2024 which may see Barcelona monitoring him for more years. However. they could face heated competition from other European giants. According to various media, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Everton, Manchester City and PSG have all expressed their interest in the starlet.
The Reinier case is yet another example of the great work Barcelona are doing at the South-American transfer market. Almost two years ago, they identified Gremio midfielder Arthur as a new Andres Iniesta. He joined Barca in July 2018 for €31million. The Brazilian is currently one of the most crucial players in the Blaugrana squad.
