It’s ‘make it or break it’ moment for Neymar transfer as Barcelona sporting advisor Eric Abidal have travelled to Paris to complete the deal.
According to a very reliable ESPN reporter Sam Marsden, the Catalans are ready to offer as much as 100 million euros for the Brazilian as well as include two players of their own in the deal – Ivan Rakitic and Philippe Coutinho.
Until this very moment, Barcelona were hoping that they can complete the transfer using only players and not money. In fact, they contemplated adding Ousmane Dembele and Nelson Semedo in the deal on top of Coutinho and Neymar.
The Parisians in their turn are not interested in Rakitic but wouldn’t mind getting Semedo in addition to Phil. The first Barca offer consisting of 60 million euros and Philippe Coutinho have already been turned down.
During Tuesday meeting with Abidal PSG sporting director Leonardo is expected to be present alongside his No. 2 Angelo Castellazzi and super-agent Pini Zahavi. The talks are expected to be ‘very complicated’. Fortunately for Barcelona, Real Madrid are apparently unable to meet Paris’ demands due to the lack of funds for the transfer.
Another reliable Barcelona source, Gerard Romero, claims that the Catalans have decided to present two alternative options for Neymar purchase: either Coutinho plus money or a season-long loan with a mandatory option to buy.
