Manchester United star Paul Pogba remains very much a subject of interest for Barcelona heading into the summer transfer window. France international is currently in his second stint at Manchester United. A product of the club’s academy, Pogba left Old Trafford on a free transfer in 2012, joining Juventus in search of regular first-team football.
Pogba developed into a world-beater in Turin, compelling the Mancunian giants to sign him back for a club-record fee in 2016. The French midfielder enjoyed a stunning season upon his come back to Theatre of Dreams, winning three trophies.
However, it has all been downhill for the 28-year-old midfielder ever since, as he has struggled to perform consistently, much to the disappointment of supporters. Now in the final four months of his deal with the Red Devils, the Frenchman has shown no indication that he will renew his contract with the Red Devils.
It has led to interest from some of the biggest teams in Europe, with PSG, Juventus and Real Madrid keen. It looks like Barcelona, too, stay in the hunt for the signing of the Frenchman.
The Blaugrana had been linked with a move for the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner in the recent past, but things had gone quiet on that front, which is understandable considering the midfield options they already have. However, with Sergio Busquets set to enter the twilight of his career, the Blaugrana will need to plan for the future.
