- Bartomeu has opened up on his final days as the Barcelona boss.
- The club failed to win any trophy last season and suffered from numerous off-field incidents.
“What we have experienced these last few months exceeds any limit. Me, my family and colleagues have been insulted and threatened,” Josep Maria Bartomeu has confessed in his farewell press conference.
“We cannot convene the vote of censure in the current circumstances and therefore resign from our duties.”
In his final year as the Barcelona president, the club ended the 2019-2020 season trophyless.
Barca also suffered from several off-field issues, including the notorious social media scandal, Leo Messi’s attempt to leave and the coaching merry-go-round.
