It seems like Barcelona won’t put up with the bad refereeing this time around!
According to RAC1’s reliable journalist Gerard Romero, Josep Maria Bartomeu has sent Luis Rubiales, the president of the RFEF (Royal Spanish Football Federation) complaining about the level of refereeing in the match between Real Sociedad and Barcelona.
The same source highlights that it was the president’s personal decision to do so. For now, it’s unknown what the possible resolution of this issue might lead to.
Meanwhile, Onda Cero’s Alfredo Martinez reports the same story, citing Radio Estadio. Barca’s president will reportedly demand explanations why the VAR wasn’t applied following Gerard Pique‘s fall inside Real Sociedad’s penalty box.

As a reminder, La Real were awarded a penalty following a soft foul from Sergio Busquets on Diego Llorente. However, the referee failed to keep up the same standard when making a decision over Pique’s fall. The most outrageous part of it being that the official didn’t even check VAR.
