JT remains a fierce leader despite retiring, coming out to support his former teammate, David Luiz, on social media.
David Luiz was sent off for a nothing challenge during Arsenal’s 2-1 loss to Wolves on Tuesday and responded to the decision with a simple Instagram story, writing, “Unbelievable!!!” with a number of angry faced emojis.
Chelsea legend and Luiz’s former captain John Terry, backed the centre-back by commenting on a post saying, “Never a red card! Double jeopardy.”
When fans disagreed with Terry, he doubled down on his stance, adding, “Anyone who has ever played the game can see David never attempts to play the ball!!!
“He actually pulls out of the challenge, which means penalty but no red card.
“You obviously don’t play and, also, check the rules yourself.”
David Luiz was sent off at half-time for a last-man challenge and Wolves were awarded a penalty from which they equalized before eventually winning 2-1.
While it’s always heartening to see Arsenal drop points, the inconsistencies with refereeing have been a menace to even the Blues this season.
