Nigerian striker Victor Boniface has once again been nominated for the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month Award, making it the fourth consecutive time he has been shortlisted.
Boniface, who has been on fire ever since he joined Bayer Leverkusen in the summer, won three straight Bundesliga Rookie of the Month Awards in August, September and October.
And on Monday, the official Bundesliga website listed the Super Eagles attacker as one of the nominees for the November award alongside two other players.
According to the shortlist, Boniface will battle with the duo of RB Leipzig winger, Xavi Simons and Merlin Röhl of SC Freiburg for the top individual prize.
Boniface, meanwhile, scored an equaliser from a Patrik Schick assist as Leverkusen came from a goal down to play out a 1-1 draw with Borussia Dortmund on Sunday.
Julian Ryerson gave Dortmund the lead within five minutes, but Boniface got the equaliser in the 79th minute to keep Leverkusen’s unbeaten Bundesliga record alive.
The goal was the 22-year-old’s eighth of the 2023/24 season and he broke a run of five Bundesliga matches without finding the back of the net.
Following an impressive start to life in Germany, he has twelve goals and six assists in 19 games for Leverkusen.
So far, so good, the Nigerian international attacker has had a hand in a total of 13 Bundesliga goals.
That is after coming up with eight goals and five other assists in 13 German top-flight matches for the club.
The 22-year-old has four goals and an assist in five Europa League outings and a goal in the DFB Pokal.
With all those, the Super Eagles striker has a total of 19 goal contributions in 19 appearances in all competitions.
