- Bordas says he personally took part in the negotiations and even got PSG to name their demands.
- Neymar’s father was ready to pay the difference between PSG’s asking price and Barca’s offer.
- The former director also reveals that Barca tried to sign Verratti, Marquinhos and Thiago Silva in the past.
“Yes, yes, we were serious [about signing Neymar]. I went personally [to Paris] and we really wanted him to come, we tried in every possible way. We were very close. We got PSG to make us an offer when they never accepted anything for Verratti, or Marquinhos, or Thiago Silva. They are not a selling club,” former Barcelona director Javier Bordas has told Mundo Deportivo.
“We were so close that Neymar thought he was coming, me too, he was close. There was a difference in money and his father would pay it but the clubs did not agree when closing the operation. But we were very close to bringing him, it was our idea.”
