It’s not an exaggeration to say that Man Utd were in a dire position when Bruno Fernandes arrived at the club.
They were a staggering 11 points off the top 4 but following his arrival, things turned around quickly for the red Devils.
It isn’t a a coincidence but a fact that it was Bruno Fernandes who turned United’s season around. They eventually claimed 3rd after a 2:0 win away at Leicester sealed a return to the Champions League, a competition Bruno Fernandes has always wanted to play in.
Since he came, Fernandes has made 21 appearances for Man United. Scoring 13 goals and laying on 10 assists.
That totals 23 direct goal involvements in 21 appearances which is just unreal for a midfielder. If you remove penalties from Bruno Fernandes stats, then the Portuguese has been involved in 17 goals in 21 appearances. Tjose are also elite returns and he’s outperformimg last season’s player of the year, Kevin de Bruyne.
This season, no United player has won more tackles than Bruno Fernandes in the league (16) and no player has more assists (3 – level with Rashford).
He has also brought leadership to United, never shying away from having a go at anyone he feels isn’t performing to the standards required of a Manchester United player. He is just a special player and one Man Utd would find difficult to do without.
