Chelsea is allegedly close to signing Jules Kounde, with Sevilla expected to accept roughly €60 million for the French center-back.
A deal could be reached today, with Kounde already missing Sevilla training as he looks increasingly likely to join Chelsea.
According to CBS Sports analyst Ben Jacobs, Barcelona has also been warned that if they want to be in the running for this deal, they should respond to Chelsea’s desire as soon as possible.
See Jacobs’ post for the most recent updates on this long-running drama, which looks positive from a Chelsea standpoint…
Thomas Tuchel was given a blow last summer when he lost Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, so bringing in a player like Kounde is critical to make up for that.
Kalidou Koulibaly has already joined CFC from Napoli, but the team may use one or two more options in that department.
Kounde has shone in La Liga and could have been an excellent signing for Barcelona, however, they appear to be out of the race.
Kounde did not train today and Sevilla firmly believe his move is imminent. Told that ideally they don’t want him travelling to Portugal and club are planning already for his exit.
