Aguero could strengthen the attack and ensure Leo Messi stays while Alaba could be an upgrade to several positions – and his agent has close ties with Laporta.
According to Fernando Polo of Mundo Deportivo, both Sergio Aguero and David Alaba have been offered to Barcelona presidential candidates as free agents this summer.
Aguero could be Barca’s Plan B to solve their attacking woes; moreover, as Leo Messi’s friend, the Argentine would ensure the captain stays for another season.
Yet it sounds odd for the Catalan club to ‘swap’ 33-year-old Luis Suarez for 32-year-old Aguero who hasn’t been prolific of late – he has scored just twice for Manchester City this season.
As for David Alaba, his versatility makes him an option to reinforce several positions, mostly a centre-back and a left-back.
What’s more, his agent Pini Zahavi has close ties with Joan Laporta – his father and advisor George confirmed earlier this week that they’re currently waiting for the outcome of the presidential election at Barca.
However, Real Madrid reportedly remain the front runner for the Austrian whose enormous wage demands could pose a problem for financially depleted Barcelona.
