The Red Devils could go level on points with Liverpool on Friday.
De Gea insists Man United players have ‘belief’ that a challenge is possible.
Speaking to MUTV about the Premier League title race, David De Gea said: “We have a big squad. We trust in every player. The whole squad is ready to play. Of course, I think there’s belief [in the dressing room].
“You have to believe, keep believing all the time. But at the same time we have to be calm because this is a long way to finish, many games to come. We have to be very focused on Aston Villa and then to the next game.
“I think we have now a winning mentality and this is very important for the team. All of us we want to win, we keep trying until the end. The manager wants us to try until the end. At the moment we feel very strong, very confident.”
Up next for Manchester United is an Old Trafford clash against Aston Villa on Friday, January 1. A win there will see Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side to go level on points with Liverpool while still having a game in hand.
