The Englishman has performed well for the Hammers after joining them on loan.
Moyes says Sir Alex is pleased to see Lingard get up to a good start to his West Ham career.
Speaking about Jesse Lingard and what he’s heard from Sir Alex Ferguson about the midfielder, David Moyes said: “He’s only here in the short term but already I’ve spoken with Sir Alex, who asked me to pass on his best to Jesse.
“He mentioned he was thinking about him because Sir Alex had him as a boy at Old Trafford.
“That just shows you the interest Sir Alex has in all the young players he had, all his teams and all his clubs he shows a great interest in them and he was pleased Jesse got off to a good start.”
Sir Alex had had a healthy relationship with Moyes for a long time and it was him who appointed the Scotsman as his successor at Man United. While that didn’t work out, the gaffer seems to be in touch with the West Ham manager and seems pleased with how Lingard is performing with the Hammers.
