The Canadian bet $1,000,000 on Argentina to beat France but ended up losing. That’s because the Albiceleste managed to overcome Les Bleus only on penalties while Drake’s bet was on a win in regular time.
Had Kylian Mbappe not scored the second goal, Drake would’ve won around $2.75m.
Some might be inclined to celebrate that the Drake curse has been broken but that might not be the case. If he bet on Argentina to win in regular time and they ended up conceding two goals late in the game, isn’t that the curse still coming into effect?
