With the Premier League transfer deadline on the 31st of August, the Gunners have come out to be the biggest spenders yet in the Premier League 2021-22 season. This is the first time since the 1995-96 season that the North London club will not play in European competition, and Mikel Arteta has made it his priority to bolster his squad.

The North London club has spent the most money on transfers this season. They are followed by Manchester United who signed Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane this summer.
Defending champions Manchester City has splashed their cash on bringing in the ex-Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish. While the European Champions Chelsea have brought back their ex-striker Romelu Lukaku.

They finished 8th in the Premier League table last season and have faced a lot of criticism for the same. Arsenal’s first signing was the Portuguese U-21 left-back Nuno Tavares. They signed the full-back from Benfica FC for £8 million last month.

A week later, the Gunners spent their money to get the signature of the 21-year-old Belgian Albert Sambi Lokonga from Anderlecht. The deal was a little complicated as Anderlecht accidentally announced it first. The post was quickly deleted as it looks like it was put on by mistake.
However, a number of eagle-eyed Gooners spotted it and screenshotted the tweet, and began sharing it themselves.
