- Lingard remains an important first team player at Old Trafford.
- United are keen to tie the 27-year-old down to a new contract.
- The Englishman’s current deal expires in the summer of 2021.
Jesse Lingard appears to have a future at Old Trafford despite being among the most inconsistent players at the club.
According to ESPN FC, Man United will be looking to offer the 27-year-old a new long-term contract before the end of the season.
However, a report from journalist Rob Dawson adds that there’s currently ‘no rush’ to begin negotiations with the 27-year-old’s representatives.
Lingard remains an important part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Old Trafford, mainly due to his ability to put pressure on the opposition’s defence.
However, the Academy graduate has now gone over 25 hours of Premier League football without scoring a goal or registering an assist.
