The Red Devils are emerging as genuine title contenders this season.
Rivals fans are starting to take note of Solskjaer’s planning and tenacity.
Following Tuesday’s 1-0 win against Wolves, a Guardian user ZeeZeeTopFulham wrote: “Manchester United don’t need to be Sir Alex Ferguson’s all-conquering titans to be a successful, competitive Premier League team – in fact, it would be generous to describe many of the title winning sides Ferguson led as titanic.
“It’s an often said line in football that a good team can play badly and win, and it’s often said because it’s true – but I don’t even believe Man United were particularly terrible today. Man United’s creative outlets provided test and challenge to Wolves and ensured they played the game at a slower pace.
“United kept the game alive throughout. Through their swift and decisive counter attacks, and numerous varied options – height, pace, technical prowess, pure power – they can rely on any angle or area on the pitch to produce a goal. The tenacity Solskjaer has brought to the side has revitalised the key drive to win.
“This has has become a staple over 2020 and taken the team to second in the table, something unthinkable last January. United are a threat again, and for all the jibes made about the club I don’t think you can really say they aren’t massively improved since Solskjaer took over. Ominous for their rivals!”
While Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keeping his cards close to his chest when it comes to a potential title challenge, the Red Devils currently find themselves second in the Premier League table with a game in hand.
