Arsenal have started their 2020/21 Premier League campaign in fine fashion, winning both of their opening games.
A 3-0 win over newly promoted Fulham was followed by a slightly more difficult game against West Ham at the Emirates, but the Gunners emerged 2-1 winners thanks to Eddie Nketiah’s goal.
First team manager Mikel Arteta must now prepare for the north Londoners’ stiffest test yet, as they travel to champions Liverpool.
The Reds have also opened the season with two wins, and will be looking to avenge the recent defeats to Arsenal – after the Gunners won the Community Shield at Wembley.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have strengthened in the summer transfer window, signing Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich and Diogo Jota from Wolves respectively, but Arsenal have new additions of their own in Willian and Gabriel Magalhaes.
The Gunners are also in the market for another midfielder this week before the window shuts, with ongoing talks with Atletico Madrid and Lyon for Thomas Partey and Houssem Aouar respectively.
But in terms of the players Arteta does have available for the trip to Merseyside, Arsenal have a near fully fit squad.
Kieran Tierney has returned to full training after being withdrawn from the line-up to face West Ham late on with an injury, whilst David Luiz is also available.
Cedric Soares and Sokratis have not featured so far this season, but both were confirmed to be back in training last week.
Mesut Ozil and Matteo Guendouzi are yet to return to the first team squads, but are thought to be fully fit and available for selection.
