“Because we were playing Barcelona and they had been scoring four past all their opponents lately,” Galatasaray head coach Domenec Torrent has told Adria Regas when asked why his side were defending deep against Barcelona.
Torrent seems to have chosen the right tactics: Barca didn’t create enough chances to open the scoring. Individually, Galatasaray defenders also did quite well.
As a reminder, Torrent used to be Pep Guardiola’s assistant coach at Barcelona.
