As per Mundo Deportivo, Gavi missed Spain’s training session on Monday after picking up a slight knock in his side’s 1-1 draw against Germany.
He suffered the knock from a duel in the game and was substituted after the hour-mark as well.
While the issue isn’t deemed to be serious, Spain’s medical team did not want to risk him and urged him to sit the training session out.
However, Gavi is expected to be fit for his side’s next World Cup group game against Japan on Thursday.
A win for La Roja in their final group match will see them head into the knockout rounds as Group E winners.
