World-famous agent Jorge Mendes reportedly has offered Cristiano Ronaldo to Barcelona.
Although we don’t see Blaugrana accept the offer, nothing can be ruled out – especially if Robert Lewandowski stays at Bayern Munich.
Here is how the legendary Portuguese could fit into Xavi’s lineup.
Option 1
Ter Stegen; Dest, Araujo, Kounde, Alba; Pedri, Busquets, Gavi; Raphinha, Ronaldo, Fati.
We are well past the time when Cristiano Ronaldo was a high-speed forward who played a lot on the wings. If he joins Barca, he will most likely play as a striker who’s not really active at pressing but still quite efficient in front of goal.
Surrounded by some really creative players in midfield and attack, the 37-year-old could even improve his tally of 24 goals with Manchester United last season.
Option 2
Ter Stegen; Araujo, Pique, Kounde; Busquets; Dembele, Kessie, Pedri, Alba; Ronaldo, Fati.
Cristiano actually played a few games in a three-at-the-back formation last term.
It would be interesting to see the forward play alongside Ousmane Dembele – who loves setting his teammates up for headed goals – and Ansu Fati who could act as a ‘false nine’ here.
