Here’s how we think our lads fared today.
Callum Hudson-Odoi – 8.5
Once again excellent as the right wing-back, continued to be a nuisance to the Burnley defence. A great assist to Cesar Azpilicueta to break the deadlock.
Mason Mount – 7.5
A very lively display and a very good link-up with Hudson-Odoi on more than one occasion. Would’ve been rated higher if his shooting was better.
Mateo Kovacic – 7.5
Looked more aggressive than usual with his passing, barely made a mistake.
Thiago Silva – 7.5
Pocketed Burnley’s forwards, was key in Chelsea’s exemplary defensive performance.
Timo Werner – 5.5
Played off Abraham to the left in the first half which is supposedly his best position but he has to do better when he has these chances. Hopefully, it’s come to him soon.
Tammy Abraham – 5
Quite a meek performance from the striker. His hold-up play was not as good as usual, and his collision with Mount in the box would’ve been funny if it didn’t result in a missed opportunity to score.
The rest: Mendy – 6, Azpilicueta – 7, Rudiger – 7, Jorginho – 6, Alonso – 7, Pulisic – 7, James – 6, Havertz – n/a
