“It’s crazy that it happened this way. I wanted it very much,” Lionel Messi said in his post-match interview with TyC Sports.

“Look at this cup, it’s beautiful. We suffered a lot but we made it. We can’t wait to be in Argentina and to see how crazy it’s going to be.
“This was the trophy I have wanted all of my life. This was my dream since childhood.”
On his retirement plans, Messi said:
“I am not retiring from the Argentina national team. I want to continue playing as a champion,” Messi adds.
Messi was the star of the show in Qatar, contributing 11 goals (7 goals, 4 assists). The Barcelona legend clearly dragged Argentina all the way to the World Cup.
Up until last night, Argentina have not won the World Cup since Diego Maradona brought lifted it for the Albiceleste 36 years ago.
