Arsenal have topped their Europa League group after drawing 2-2 with Standard Liege.
The Gunners needed to avoid a five-goal defeat to ensure qualification to the knock-out round, after beating the Belgian side 4-0 at the Emirates in October.
But they came back from two goals down to earn a draw and secure top spot, after Eintracht Frankfurt’s 3-2 defeat to Vitoria.
Interim head coach Freddie Ljungberg made a raft of changes to the Arsenal line-up, resting many of those who started in the 3-1 win over West Ham on Monday.
Alexandre Lacazette was restored to the side, while Emile Smith Rowe and Reiss Nelson were also handed starts.
Matteo Guendouzi came back into the midfield alongside Joe Willock, while David Luiz started in a back three with Konstantinos Mavropanos and Sokratris.
Luiz, a summer signing from Chelsea, was dropped by Ljungberg for the clash at London Stadium after a series of poor performances.
The Brazilian centre back arrived as a replacement for former captain Laurent Koscielny, but his inconsistent displays have attracted criticism from supporters, who were pleased to see Calum Chambers given a chance to play in the middle against West Ham.
The former Chelsea defender has often been labelled as too lax and careless on the pitch, with Gary Neville once claiming the 32-year-old played as being as if he was “controlled by a 10-year-old in the crowd on a Playstation.”
And his display in the first half against Standard Liege will not have pleased supporters, after noticing one moment of play.
Striding forward into the centre circle, Luiz takes several steps before appearing to play a pass forward without looking.
And fans took to social media to question his decision.
Arsenal fell behind early in the second half against Liege, with Samuel Bastien opening the scoring two minutes after the restart.
The Belgian doubled their lead soon after, but goals from Alexandre Lacazette and Bukayo Saka levelled the scores and secured the point which sees the north London side top the group.
Next up, the Gunners face champions Manchester City on Sunday, before travelling to Everton the weekend after.
Luiz is likely to return to the bench this weeknd, with Ljungberg set to return to a partnership of Chambers and Sokratis for the visit of Pep Guardiola’s side.
