- The centre-back has been linked with Napoli exit.
- His relationship with the club has deteriorated of late.
- The Parthenopeans want more than €120m for the 28-year-old.
- Koulibaly shouldn’t leave Napoli for United until the summer, insists ESPN FC pundit Alejandro Moreno.
Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly has long been a target for United. The 28-year-old returned on the Red Devils radar earlier this week as the Parthenopeans could be forced to offload him for £69million in January (Il Mattino).
The Senegalese has been backed to finish the current season at the Serie A before moving to Old Trafford by ESPN FC pundit Alejandro Moreno.
“I think Koulibaly has earned himself a summer move rather than a winter move,” he said. “I believe that if he waits it out there’s going to be a few teams that are going to line up and if there are a few teams lining up, there’s demand, and if there’s demand then the price goes up.
“He will do well just to stay with Napoli, not jump to Manchester United just yet.
“I think there will be more of a market for him out there.”
Koulibaly is said to be no longer unsellable while Napoli are expected to consider his departure for more than €120million in the summer of 2020 (CalcioMercato). The Senegal international joined the Parthenopeans from Genk for £7m in 2014 and has gone to make 226 appearances for the club since then.
