N’Golo Kante will be free to sign a pre-agreement with a new club in January and, as per Diario Sport, the midfielder wants to sign his deal with Barcelona as soon as possible.
The contacts between the parties are advanced, with Mateu Alemany personally leading the negotiations. The board are convinced by Kante and want the move to happen, but Xavi’s demands a stumbling block.
Barca see N’Golo as a potential replacement for Sergio Busquets. However, the coach prefers Martin Zubimendi and has asked the club to do everything possible to sign him. Blaugrana, though, do not have the €60m to trigger Zubimendi’s release clause and departures will be needed.
As for Kante, he wants to find a new club in the near future. The 31-year-old has other good offers on the table, including one from Juventus, and is ready to consider them if Barca do not move fast enough.
