Ronald Koeman says that the blame game can be understood if a team lose 4 or 5 games in a row.
Against Levante, Barca needed to secure the winning result, that’s why bringing on a defender was normal, he says.
“I can understand the criticism when the team lose 4 or 5 games, but I don’t understand the criticism for putting on a defender in the last five minutes when you need to win,” Ronald Koeman has told the media ahead of the Real Sociedad clash.
The Dutchman was clearly referring to the situation in the Levante game when he subbed on Samuel Umtiti to secure the winning result. Most Cules were probably waiting for Riqui Puig to come on but Koeman later explained that the game was won and there was no need to put the youngster on.
How would you assess the situation? Did Koeman do right by bringing on Samuel Umtiti in the previous game?
