Koeman believes that Barca have to know that they also need to defend and control the game, not only attack.The coach says he subbed in Lenglet for Coutinho to control the match defensively.He claims that Barca have a young team and that can be a problem at times.

“We didn’t miss many clear chances today, we only had one or two in the first half. I’m worried that at 2-1 we always want to attack, we have to know that we have to defend and control the game as well. We also lost balls,” Ronald Koeman said after the Valencia game.

“We played a very irregular match. We had some good football moments, but we also lost spells of us losing a lot of balls. It was difficult for us to control the game.

“I was thinking of playing with three at the back to control the game more defensively. We have a very young team and that causes us to be a little erratic at times. We have to mature.”

As a reminder, Koeman replaced Philippe Coutinho with Clement Lenglet while the score was 2-2. Although this allowed Jordi Alba and Sergino Dest to focus more on the attack, it didn’t really improve Barcelona’s performance.
