- Ter Stegen made his injury return in the 2-1 Champions League victory over Dynamo Kyiv on Wednesday.
- Even though the Ukrainian side lacked 9 first-team players due to Covid-19 crisis in their squad, the German was arguably the main reason behind Barca’s triumph.
- Koeman has hailed the keeper’s ‘great’ performance.
“He has proved to be a great goalkeeper for us,” Ronald Koeman told Movistar of Marc-Andre ter Stegen‘s performance in Barcelona‘s 2-1 home win over Dynamo Kyiv in the Champions League on Wednesday.
“He has been training well and we can see that today. We started the match well and quickly made it 1-0, but we were unable to find the second goal and then lost control.

The Ukrainian side were without nine first-team players at Camp Nou due to Covid-19 crisis in their squad but managed to give the Catalans a hard time.
Ter Stegen had been on the sidelines since undergoing knee surgery in August before making his first appearance of the season against Dynamo. It would be fair to say that a number of the German’s saves were vital for the Catalans securing their third consecutive win the CL this term.
