Barcelona’s assistant coach Alfred Schreuder was asked by the club’s media why Leo Messi was left out of the match against Real Sociedad, with the Dutchman confirming the captain is injured.
“Leo had some physical problems so he’s not going to play today. We don’t take any risks with him,” Schreuder said.
“Messi back for Sunday? First we have to win today.”
The Argentine apparently suffered a slight injury against Granada, which led to him missing the morning training ahead of the Real Sociedad game.
Schreuder also confirmed that Oscar Mingueza is starting ahead of Sergino Dest as the American has ‘a little problem’.
