Spanish La Liga club Cádiz CF will pay tribute to famous Nigerian artist Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, who passed away recently.
According to EuroFoot on their X handle, the late singer’s customized shirt will be on Cadiz’s bench for their La Liga home match with Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday afternoon.
Cadiz will hope the tribute to Mohbad will help them return to winning ways.
The club has failed to win their last two games, securing a loss and a draw.
They currently occupy ninth place with eight points in the league table.
Mohbad died on September 12, 2023 at the age of 27.
There have been several conflicting reports surrounding the circumstances that led to his shocking demise, with some saying he passed after being injected by a nurse.
However, Perez Medcare Hospital, where he was allegedly taken prior to his demise, has said that he was brought in dead.
Meanwhile, Nigerian singer Azeez Fashola, a.k.a Naira Marley, said that he knows nothing about the death of Mohbad, who was his former signee.
Naira Marley made this known on Tuesday in a statement released by his management team on his Instagram page while he also said he is coming back to Nigeria to clear his name.
