Recently, an anonymous source leaked the top 10 players in the ranking and the Argentine came up on top.
Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah sit in second and third respectively.

The world is getting crazy as the 2019 Ballon d’Or winner is set to be announced on Monday, December 2. Earlier on, several sources reported that Leo Messi was the winner of the award and had already been informed by France Football, the newspaper that gives away the award.

Most recently, an anonymous source on Twitter ‘leaked’ the final result of the voting. As the list shows, Leo Messi sits in the first place with 446 points. Liverpool’s Virgil Van Dijk is the runner-up with 382 points and Mohamed Salah completes the top 3 with 179 points. Messi’s career-long rival Cristiano Ronaldo finishes in the fourth position with 133 points.

However, you should keep in mind that these results have been leaked by an anonymous source on Twitter and it isn’t clear whether it should be trusted enough.

We encourage you to take the news with a pinch of salt and wait until the winner is officially revealed on Monday, December 2.

In case the Argentine does win the award, it will become his sixth Ballon d’Or,— an absolute record. Earlier this year, Leo was handed the Golden Boot for the most league goals from 2018-19. Once again, it was the sixth times Barca’s captain won the award, which is also a world record.
