The Argentine fears it’s going to be difficult for the next president to get Barca back where they belong.
He doubts any big-money signings are possible because the club simply don’t have enough money.
“The club is very bad [financially], very bad,” Leo Messi stated in his exclusive interview to La Sexta, as quoted by ESPN.
“It’s going to be difficult to return to where we were. It won’t be easy for the new president to turn things around. I hope whoever wins does things well to get this great club back to where it deserves to be.”
On Neymar’s potential comeback, the Argentine added: “It’s going to be tough to sign quality players because there’s no money.
“It’s tough to bring Neymar here. [Even if he] accepts a smaller salary, how do you pay PSG? The new president will have to be very intelligent and get things in order.”
Neymar caused a stir a couple of weeks ago when he revealed he wanted to play with Leo Messi again. He has a contract with PSG until 2022. Several presidential candidates speculated on his return.
