Leo Messi landed in his home city of Rosario on Sunday’s evening. The Argentine will spend his Christmas holidays with his family in Argentina. His wife Antonella left Barcelona with their three sons already on Thursday, according to Diario Sport sources.
Messi was spotted in the Barcelona airport straight after the Alaves game on Saturday. He took the private jet with close friend Luis Suarez.

Messi has already been pictured driving a car in Rosario, according to the local media.
While the majority of the Barcelona squad will resume training on December 29, the South American players are allowed to extend their holidays. Messi, Suarez and Vidal are expected to return to Barcelona on January 2.
Thus, the trio will return only two days before the clash against Espanyol, Barca’s city rivals. In any case, Messi’s potential absence shouldn’t worry Barcelona fans that much. Espanyol are enduring their worst season in years as they are on the bottom of the La Liga table with just 10 points from 18 matches.
