Ligue 1 side Lyon have offered a fresh update on Memphis Depay’s future amid fresh rumors he could move to Barcelona in January.
Gerard Houllier, who works as an adviser at the French club, insists Lyon still want him to stay but know it will be difficult to keep hold of the Dutchman.
“We will do everything we can to keep him, but it’s very possible that…. it’s football and we’ll see,” he said.
“If his performances are likey they were before the injury it’s likely other clubs will come in, but I think that Barca appreciate him a lot.
“Depay is happy in Lyon but Abidal was too and he went to Barca.”

Barce are reportedly set to reignite their interest in January after losing Ansu Fati to a knee injury for the next four months. Depay spoke about his future at the weekend and didn’t rule out leaving before the end of the current season.
